new bomb from west london don phil asher..... phash continues his raw fusion escapades with this recycled and well improved reggae groove made in a true restless soul spirit. together with uk singer shea soul and mc motet of the bugz crew, phil rocks the joints on this original brentford all stars sample and reboots it into the future of cyberspace. with nice punch bits like baby girl, im looking at the front door, motet slices it up and gives room for shea soul as she melts our hearts with her smooth vocal chords. and dubbed out of his mind, phil keeps going for an instrumental dub version where it (by way of the tape delay inferno) gets the true king tubby treatment.

every friday hugg & pepp sits down to have their mid day break after having a sturdy lunch at the partymakers. pepp is usually not late to suggest that something sweet should be consumed during this time in order to get inspiration and joy. hugg, who is also known for his sense of culinary experiences sometimes surprises pepp with exciting creations from all corners of the world. this particular friday, the team has choosen the mormors hosta, a typical swedish bread in wich a special yellow fudge, the hosta, can be found in the middle of this delicious bakery dedicated to our beloved grandmother. pepp, who is specially found of the hosta, also suggested that the two would make a tribute to grandfather so they wrapped the mormorshosta in a farfarskofta into a roll, then split it in half and feasted on this magnificent little piece in a cheerful mood. after this, filled up and satisfied they returned to their mystery machine and started to feed it with this new recepie. at first the machine returned some strange messages but after correcting the proportions between the amount of hosta and bread the machine successfully coughed up a banging bassline.

as we found this fabolous track from bruce lenkei, we couldnt believe that this was not an original from the cosmic era, instead it is a new production. this track immediately came on to us very strong with its magic sounds and the great atmosphere, which describes the title best. after we included the moonlightzombiedance into our mix for the d.i.r.t.y soundsystem from paris, we got crazy feedback from around the globe and so we decided to put it on wax. on the remix duties we have the hot talented michoacan, who earned himself a very good reputation with 12inches on labels like bear enterainment, grayhound recordings, tiny sticks and lektroluv under his belt. most recently he also got remixed by the almighty dj harvey and the glimmers. he speeded the tempo of the original way up and transformes it into a crazy krautrock stepper in the vain of goblin. it makes the people dance like zombies on speed - we experienced :). if you dig the zombiezombie stuff you will love this one.

the beginning of year three in the adjunct chronicles is marked by a 12inch by our own apendics.shuffle. kenneth james gibson has been bombarding the techno scene consistently for the past few years. u_derline, orac, friends of tomorrow, mos ferry, sunset diskos among other labels have served as the carrier for kens deadly weapons. remix duties are taken on by the one and only mathias schaffhäuser , a renowned techno superstar and the founder of ware records. there couldnt have been a better title than >no reduction< to literary describe this monster of a track - ken has unleashed the entire arsenal of his studio for the creation. stern synth patterns pizzicato their way through the track, deep sea signals ring in the background, distorted vocal snippets insist on taking >all the money<. energetic and magnetic dancefloor number dedicated to the real freaks. mathias approaches the rework with smooth drumming and a velvet bassline. the cheeky cabaret vibe however never settles: the diabolical pizzicato of the original returns and the voices continue their demands for (what all adds up to in the end) >no reduction<. oblivious filth brings yet another layer to this joint. beautifully crafted sounds mingle with electro-mechanical noises, layers of melting textures lure the listener into a late night wonderland

the original mix of tape replay is nearly nine minutes long and can only be described as a journey. its the perfect transition track, able to turn minimal sets into future disco, a house set into electro-funk, a techno set into a live jam-a-thon or a rigid set of any kind (like too many these days) into something with emotional depth. for remix duties we have enlisted our favorite producers will saul & tam cooper from simple records. much like their tech-house revision of phoniques bang, recently released on dessous, here on fresh meat they have put together a subtle yet bassy response to the wow & flutter original. the track builds and builds and at about three fourths through it explodes with lush keys, rich pads and a breakdown thats executed perfectly. these gents are on point and we are more than excited to have them along for the trip.

igor tchkotoua and dan duncan are true workaholics. not only are the two mallorquinos forming one of the most exciting techno duos of our time and play in the most famous clubs worldwide, they always make it to pop up in the studio to work on their releases on sonic society, wig records or like in the case of >deliverance<, the new 12inch on cocoon. >deliverance< starts quite cautious but the track becomes more and more complex – pig & dan give the dj a tool that fits the minimal raver like a custom-made suit. the b side is again one of those tracks that put a smile on your face. in >sly detector<, atmospheric techno sound unites with energetic celebration pleasure, just as we know it from tracks like >after ibiza< or >on to the beat<. the rolling hookline which has the necessary splash of acid is, together with the floating trance layer, adrenalising to such extent that nothing else remains to be done but to raise your hands in the air. the track was already a hit with many djs in 2007, and will be one – chosen in the right moment – on many dancefloors in 2008, too

original underground resistance member robert hood is a true icon in techno music, with releases on legendary imprints such as tresor, axis, peacefrog, logistic and his own label m-plant. one could even call him the godfather of minimal techno. hoodmusic 3 is the follow up to his 2005 and 2006 releases on music man. theres a little bit for everyone on there and we are pretty sure youre going to like these tracks as much as we do!!

here s an appetizer before the full length nebraska album drops on dl. vicarious disco (alt. mix) is a slightly different mix of one of the key album tracks, a combination of an insistent looped up riff, soaring orchestral strings, and a hot nickels synth bassline. me me me goes more juan style techno, all portamento slides and peppered staccato melodies a jacker! for the b side, we asked one of our all-time favorite producers to remix vicarious disco soul 223, aka stasis. its similar in style to his other soul 223 stuff, his personalized take on detroit beatdown house.

this time, doctor pepp and doctor hugg investigates the secrets behind the pappas mechanism that is the source of the love explosion. in the 2007 report >pappa love mechanism and it social economic studies< we have tried to cover the whole process from the first eye contact on the dancefloor to the sucessful stimuli of ollon and completion of the explosion. it is reported that at least 52 sucessful explosions inside the mamma during 2007 (percentage of error 3.45%) where produced under assistance of the special hugg & pepp frequency spectrum in our test envrioments. we are very proud to present this spectrum in two separate files, the pung spectrum and the ollon spectrum, each one being specially designed to meet the high level criterias of today. the pung spectrum has a base frequency of about 75.5 hz for wich most pungs will be mostly efficient. how ever, this special spectrum has such a rich and joyful tonal range making contact on the dancefloor under influence of alcohol is no longer necessary

an hybrid sound, explosive and melodic. in the higher reaches of electronic music a new label appears intending to disrupt our habits. proposing an alternative to the stereotyped dance music and the boring minimal, basilic records permits new talents to release their maxis. the founder of this label is not focused on exclusive type of electronic music, he is keen on hard tech as well as minimalism. the only condition is a brilliant techno sound dedicated to space. this first release is influenced by border community & skryptom.

kontra-musik 006 moves the label into the analog domain of electronic dance music. this kind of sound you only get with the good old analogues. the a-side, produced by the master of the modular system, pseudonym scaff, takes us deep down our favorite techno memory lane. if techno was the meeting of kraftwerk and george clinton in an elevator, ssm 440 is the outcome of jeff mills and maurizio having breakfast at tiffanys. this track is warm, dubby and monotonous but with a drive heading straight for the late night dance floor. the b-side gives us two unique sounding tracks from pseudonym aparatus. city tunnel slowly and elegantly grinds, cranks and turns while building its way towards dance floor bliss. x-presso is best described as periodic fluctuations of voltages in the analog domain. elegant details of beautiful sound take us back to the time when minimal music still was interesting. this is >techno< in the sense that the term was originally intended. enjoy cause analog is the bastard

the long awaited follow up to love wont give up is finally here! hold on to me is a powerful duet performance delivered by the first family of our house music scene mr. kenny bobien and his wife stephanie cooke. kenny bobien sets his falsetto style aside and surprises us with his tenor vocal abilities, which added a fine r&b flavor to his performance. on the background vocal duties, mrs. stephanie cooke brings just the right balance and blends in beautifully with her husband. soulshines own louis benedetti seats behind the mixing board and comes up with a stellar set of mixes. tested and approved by a handful of tastemakers hold on to me is without a doubt another soulshine classic!!!!
